ABI5 acts as a positive regulator in ABA signaling, regulating both seed germination and post‐germinative seedling development (Finkelstein and Lynch 2000). ABA not only activates ABI5 transcription, but also promotes ABI5 accumulation (Finkelstein and Lynch 2000; Lopez‐Molina et al. 2001). Reduced transcription of FLC results, at least partially, from the abnormal splicing and reduced transcript abundance of ABSCISIC ACID‐INSENSITIVE 5 (ABI5), which encodes an activator of FLC in ABA‐regulated flowering signaling.

The gene accession numbers in this study are available at TAIR (The Arabidopsis . (closed triangles), abi5-1 (open squares), and abi5-1 eel-1 (open cir- cles) were plated on medium supplemented with the indicated con- centrations of ABA, chilled for 4 days at 4 C in darkness, and At least seven isoforms (PsABI3-1 to PsABI3-7) of a putative, pea ABI3-like factor, originated by alternative splicing, have been identified after cDNA cloning. A similar variability had previously only been described for monocot genes. The full-length It is expressed in seeds and up-regulated in response to ABA. Loss of function mutants show decreased rate of germination in the presence of ABA. ABA dependent regulation is mediated by both ABI3 and ABI5.

The functional relationship between AtU2AF65b and ABI5 was further tested by using the abi5 atu2af65b‐1 double mutant. The flowering time of abi5 atu2af65b‐1 plants was similar to those of abi5 and atu2af65b single mutant plants (Fig. 5e,f), indicating that AtU2AF65b and ABI5 …

TAIR Curator Summary Encodes a member of the FT and TFL1 family of phosphatidylethanolamine-binding proteins. It is expressed in seeds and up-regulated in response to ABA. Loss of function mutants show decreased rate of germination in the presence of ABA. ABA dependent regulation is mediated by both ABI3 and ABI5.

abi5 Encodes a member of the basic leucine zipper transcription factor family, involved in ABA signalling during seed maturation and germination. The Arabidopsis abscisic acid (ABA)-insensitive abi5 mutants have pleiotropic defects in ABA response, including decreased sensitivity to ABA inhibition of germination and altered expression of some ABA-regulated genes.

The Arabidopsis abscisic acid (ABA)-insensitive abi5 mutants have pleiotropic defects in ABA response, including decreased sensitivity to ABA inhibition of germination and altered expression of some ABA-regulated genes. The dgat1 mutant (CS3861) was purchased from TAIR. An abi4‐1 mutant line in a Col‐0 background and an abi5‐1 mutant line in a Ws background were obtained from Dr. Dapeng Zhang. We generated the double mutant (abi4abi5) by crossing the single mutants.

To identify the mode of HDA9 function during seed germination, we tested its interaction with several known ABA-mediated transcription factors, including ABI3, ABI4, and ABI5, using the yeast two Protein Abscisic Acid-insensitive 5.

Required for ABI5 degradation, by mediating its ubiquitination. Together with EDR1, may regulate endocytic trafficking and/or the formation of signaling complexes on trans-Golgi network (TGN)/ early endosome (EE) vesicles during stress responses

TAIR Curator Summary Encodes a nuclear coiled-coil protein related to the carrot peripheral nuclear protein NMCP1 that is involved in the determination of plant nuclear structure. Member of a small gene family in Arabidopsis containing 4 proteins (LNC1-4 or CRWN 1-4) with redundant functions in protection from oxidative damage, control of nuclear morphology and degradation of ABI5.
